I had a Windows Phone before and switched to an Android Phone when the screen cracked. The difference was night and day as I felt that I was holding a mini computer instead of holding a simple phone. It was great until I noticed that it knew me too well...
The only saved input that I gave that phone was my home address and my work place address, keep that in mind. It's giving me the time it takes to go to work according to traffic and it's normal. Now it knows exactly which days I'm working without me ever telling it when I was going to work, still kinda ok. It tells me what time it takes to go to the regular bar I go to at the right time! Now this is strange.
It's giving me all the news about specific cars, wrestling and other stuff and it's pretty cool...but now it gives me news about people commenting here on Oppo! Yes, if it notices that I talk a lot to an Opponaut here, it will send me links on the latest comments of the said Oppo user even if the thread he/she commented on is not relevent to me. This is madness.
Now it gives me notifications when Mr. Regular posts a video. It doesn't do it to any other channels. Only the Regular Car review channel.
I know these are "Smartphones", but this is weird...It just knows me too well. I think a full reset needs to be done...

I'm guessing most of that is google now, and you can turn most/all of that off in its settings. Although that data will probably not go anywhere since its somewhere in the Google already..

I probably will turn most of the features off. But getting to know what time it takes to go to work was really neat!

Everything Google is stalkerish. Which Windows Phone did you have?

Google is the stalker, it's insane. the search knows exactly where you are based on the IP.

Yeah, my phone knows all sorts of things I do at home and at work too, because I use chrome. It's creepy, but i must say, it's also convenient.

Oh man, no wonder you went to Android. Having started with a WP7 device as my first smartphone, I'd be pissed to still be using it as well.
WP8.1 is a revelation compared to WP7.

Odd. My android phone does none of this.

Too bad you jumped ship so soon, WP8/8.1 are getting really good.
Cortana is coming with the 8.1 update, and she's awesome. She also knows everything. She figured out where I live and work, without any input from me.

If you really don't like the stalkerish stuff you could try out a current-gen Windows 8 phone. They've got a significantly improved feature set over Windows Phone 7, and WP8.1 is pretty much on par with Android and iOS.
Then again, it all depends on what you want from a phone.

Well I'm gonna stay on this Android for the moment. I'll wait for a great flagship from Nokia.

What phone do you have?

Galaxy S4. I'll be honest I only use it for basic stuff. Browsing a few websites, checking email, and monitoring my fantasy baseball team. I do a little bit of netflix on it though too.

Yeah, iDevices and AndroThings aggregate a ton of data about your life and try to tune their operation around it.
Windows Phone 8.1 is starting to do the same thing. I installed it and set up Cortana, then left her alone. A couple days later I do a search and it comes up with "Is this your house?" with my address. Then "Is this where you work?" with my address. Now it tells me when I should leave A in order to get to B on time. Turns wireless off at work and back on at home. It's kinda weird, almost nice, but also disheartening.

Same here. I'm on the fence with Cortana

I have the Moto X, it's like the ultimate stalker phone because Google adds all of their own features. It showed my kinja posts when I had never even logged in on anything on my phone.
